They are located on the ground floor of the homonymous palace and consist of a succession of rooms with an entrance from Piazzetta Reale.

Their current appearance dates back to 1753, when Duke Charles Emmanuel III entrusted Benedetto Alfieri with the task of remodelling the building to allocate it as a residence for his son, Benedetto Maria Maurizio, duke of Chiablese, and a seat for the court offices.

In 2013, the rooms were restored and designated to house exhibition spaces.
